Main Role:

To design, document, implement and test sophisticated mobile telephony test-system.

Job Description:

  • Design, Document, Implement and Test solutions based on system specification and architecture documents.
  • Java software development; both presentation and business layers
  • Support Team Leader in achieving project deliverables, performance and quality objectives.
  • To work with team prepare engineering designs
  • Documentation of work according to project needs and local procedures
  • Take responsibility for significant project deliverables as determined by Team-Leader
  • Set and achieve personal goals and deliverables with minimal day-by-day supervision
  • Provide technical assistance to other departments and to customers
  • Share ideas and skills to the benefit of the Team and wider department
  • Use of configuration and change management methods

Requirements:

  • Experienced and strong object-oriented designer, used to documenting designs in the UML.
  • Experienced software engineer (5 years minimum ) familiar with
  • Development practices; unit-testing, build-scripts (ant)
  • Developing new features on legacy systems
  • Java, JUnit, DOM4J, Ant
  • Concurrency, IO, Swing, Generics
  • Working knowledge of XML (eg.XML parsing with DOM4J, SAX), minimum 5 years

Desired Experience:

  • Use of UML Tools
  • Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP)
  • Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD)
  • Engineering background, not business systems – understanding of systems programming; platform issues, real-time systems (soft) concurrency, load-testing/performance analysis, protocols, etc
  • Java Experience
  • Garbage Collection tuning
  • Development of Swing custom components, from 1st principles
  • JNI, AOP, NIO
  • JIDE Swing component library
  • Object DB
  • JIDE
  • Windows (7/10 etc) platform
  • Issues Tracking, e.g JIRA
  • Version Control, e.g. P4V
  • Threading, MFC, IO, DLL’s,
  • Visual Studio
  • Ready to travel overseas
