Speaker: Adam Sherer (Product Management Group Director)
Organisation: Cadence
Presentation Title: Unified Safety and Functional Verification
Abstract: Safety and functional verification must be the same flow. ISO26262, IEC61508, and other related standards specify requirements tracing, functional verification, and safety verification. While these standards do not require a single flow, justifying unrelated analyses to auditors is an expensive process. We have years of experience applying advanced techniques including UVM and metric driven verification to functional verification and we now need to add safety verification to these to provide the automation engineering teams need to achieve compliance in a timeline and cost-effective manner.

  • Mission critical applications demand rigorous verification
  • Safety verification is a new functional verification application
  • Integrated functional and safety verification flows are required to achieve timely and cost-effective standards compliance
