|Title:||When silicon fails…|
Abstract : Silicon failure is painful and expensive. The post-silicon validation that finds these failures appears to be pre-silicon verification’s ugly sister. She wines at her more beautiful sister with tales of loss of system performance or odd intermittent failures. She does not have the swish tools, beautiful methodologies and classy abstractions at her disposal like her sister. We hope we can gaze only at the beautiful pre-silicon verification and not the ugly post-silicon validation that contradicts her. But this cannot always be the case, and we need to talk about it.
