Verifying Product Functionality by using LabVIEW and Teststand Software
The client is a leader in the market of fluid control equipment, pump, seal, valve manufacturing, climate & energy. Other segments include controlling electric motors, gas compressors and powering mobile machinery.
The scope of the project was to use LabView software to develop the code for various scenarios in the Embedded domain. The customer required full function testing of the product using LabVIEW and Teststand software to meet the requirements of the product owner. The project had an aggressive timescale and the whole process was to involve both the development and software validation teams.
The T&VS Solution
T&VS helped to evaluate the codes and test the firmware in many different ways by using the client’s customized tools, apart from LabVIEW software.
The functional documents were prepared by the development team with the support from the product owner. Based on these documents, the test scenarios where specified and executed through scripts and LabVIEW software. A report was presented to the software validation team based on the product owner’s requirements and including how the tests should be done using the agile methodology. Every week of the project a review meeting took place with the client and product owner to ensure progress against the schedule was being met.
The phased delivery model recommended by T&VS enabled the customer to easily track milestone accomplishment for each phase and achieve sign-off in a methodical manner. T&VS’ well-established process involving peer review after every milestone delivery ensured that there were no delays in the deliverables to customer.
