Abstract:ZCFD is a new industrial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, designed from the start to make highly efficient use of many-core devices. Cloud access removes traditional barriers to smaller companies, while proven scalability allows larger industries to complete big simulation tasks faster. Out hybrid licensing model allows solution providers to create bespoke products – using ZCFD as a high performance CFD engine. ZCFD may be used with most existing commercial and open source CFD tools.
Biography #1:jamil-appaJamil Appa is an internationally recognized technology leader in computational engineering and high performance computing. With over 17 years of industrial experience within BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre (1994 to 2012), in a variety of roles, Appa has provided technical leadership to 40 staff developing world-class tools for aerodynamics, acoustics, electromagnetics and material dynamics to live programs including Eurofighter Typhoon and Airbus A380. Jamil Appa provides guidance to numerous national and international organisations including the Industrial Mathematics Knowledge Transfer Network – Advisory Panel; EPSRC Proposal Review Panel; SuperComputing Invited Masterworks Presentation – A Grand Challenge: MultiCore and Industrial Modelling and Simulation and invited participant of the e-Science Technology Advisory Group Member Chaired by Tony Hey CBE FREng FIET FInstP FBCS.
Biography #2:david-standingfordDavid Standingford is a technology leader and manager with experience in the UK, Australia and the USA. Prior to co-founding Zenotech Ltd, Standingford worked as a lecturer in mathematics and fluid dynamics at the University of Adelaide, as a postdoctoral researcher on the NASA Microgravity Programme at the University of Delaware, and most recently at BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre as the Theme Technology Leader for Design and Materials Technology, responsible for Computational Engineering, IT Strategy, Materials Science and Stealth. Standingford is a member of the EPSRC College and the National Physical Laboratory Materials and Modelling working group and leads the ERCOFTAC UK Pilot Centre.
